Countdown to Christmas - Layered Emboss Resist Tree

Hello! Happy Monday! Did you have the day off today? I didn't, but so it goes. :)

So, welcome to a new video series! I'm calling it Countdown to Christmas and my goal is to bring you a few Christmas project videos each month for October, November, and December. Hope you enjoy!

Here's my first Countdown to Christmas project. Am I allowed to say that I really love this card? Because I do! ;) I recently did a swap with part of my upline's upline and this is the card I made. If you wanted to mass produce this more than 10 times or so (I did 12 and it took a Lord of the Rings movie), you could omit the tags and simplify the layering.

For my video, I go over in detail how to do the layered emboss resist technique that I used for the focal image. Check it out below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Is there anything special you'd like to see in future Countdown to Christmas videos? Let me know!

Have a good week!

Happy Stampin'! :)

World Cardmaking Day 2012

Happy World Cardmaking Day! I hope you're having a great, crafty day!

I didn't have time to get as much done as I'd hoped today because... guess what! I was totally stuck all day! No inspiration whatsoever! But I sat down to make a video anyway, and I actually kind of love the resulting card. Yay! :)

Y'all know how much I love to watercolor, and I just got this stamp set very recently. I was kind of stressing about my creative block, so I figured sitting down and coloring for a while was a good place to start. :)

So anyway, check out the video here, or over on my YouTube channel.

I hope you had - or are having! I know a lot of us do our best crafting at night :) - a fantastic World Cardmaking Day!

Happy Stampin'!

October Stampin' Up! Promotions

October?! Oh my word! Where have I been! It has been so busy around here - especially on weekends! My husband works Monday - Friday now (used to be Sunday - Thursday), so we've actually been going out and doing fun things on Sundays, which used to be my day to myself when I usually did most of my crafting. Hence the lateness - or complete lack - of Start-to-Finish Sunday videos lately. I'm working on it, I promise!

Anyway, I wanted to pop in today to share the big Stampin' Up! promotion for the month of October. Check it out!

October is an awesome time to start thinking about your Christmas cards and other holiday projects. Now through 10/31/12, When you purchase the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and the Candlelight Christmas DSP, you'll get the Festive Paper Piercing Pack (it coordinates with the ornament stamp set!) FOR FREE! And as if that wasn't awesome enough, this special is also good when you purchase the Ornament Keepsakes Bundle that includes the stamp set and the matching Framelits dies!

Start-to-Finish Sunday #9... Just a day late! :)

Hey hey! Happy Monday! I had this video filmed and edited last night by a little before 11pm, but I just couldn't stay up to upload it. One of these weeks I'll actually get around to finishing it on time - maybe even early! :)

I think it's pretty safe to say fall is my favorite season. And after a super mild winter, a very warm spring, and a summer hotter than we've had in at least a few years, I've been surprised lately at how cool it's been here recently. It feels too early, but I'm not complaining. I'm that person who wears flip-flops until it snows, but today I put on long pants and clogs and it actually felt good. I've had two hot ciders, I'm craving soup like you wouldn't believe, and I'm fixin' to tell my husband we're going apple picking this weekend whether he likes it or not! :-D

So it was wicked fun breaking out the fall items from the Holiday Catalog. These colors make me so happy! And I adore the Wonderfall stamp set - there are so many awesome things you can do with it! So go ahead and check out the video below, or over on my YouTube channel. Enjoy!

Have a great week! Happy Stampin' !
