CCC Blog Hop: Back to School

Hey there! Welcome to the first Blog Hop with the Catherine and Cathy Create Design Team. If you've come from Christine Wells's blog, you're on the right track. If not head back to the beginning of the hop to make sure you don't miss any of the awesome projects!

I was really lucky growing up in that my mom only worked part-time outside the house during my childhood. She drove me to school and packed my lunch pretty much every day all the way from elementary school through high school. (And yes, you understood that right, I did not have a car in high school. lol.) And even though high school, it wasn't rare for me to find stickers on my sandwich baggie. Since I've been really into tags and 3x3 cards lately, I thought it would be fun to make a little set of lunchbox notes. It took me no time at all to make these three and it would only take minutes more to make a whole slew of them. I love the idea of sending a cute little handmade note of love and encouragement in your child's lunchbox!

I've put a complete supply list for these little cards at the very bottom of this post, so make sure you scroll all the way down. But first, the business of the Blog Hop! How does some Blog Candy sound? The prize is the Label Love stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! catalog. :)

Papertrey Ink April 2012 Blog Hop

Oh my goodness! Where have I been? Well, let's see... Doing a lot of knitting, getting back into our jam making groove, and creating all the decorations for a baby shower in less than a week, for starters! I just haven't really been feeling the card making lately, but this month's PTI blog hop was a great place to start back in! :)

How pretty is this inspiration photo? So springy and fun, and I love the colors! Plus, I've been really impressed with the new PTI inks, so I was psyched to break them out for this challenge.

I had a lot of fun making this card... it's pretty much 100% stamping. It's maybe a little bit busy, but I didn't have any patterned paper that worked with the color scheme. Also, I don't have PTI's Sweet Blush ink yet, so I used Stampin' Up's Blushing Bride.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're having a great week!

Papertrey December Blog Hop Challenge

I always love seeing what other people come up with for the monthly PTI blog hops, but I always either don't have time or don't have any inspiration when the time comes. This month, I've had this card in mind all day, but as far as getting it made - well, I'm just sneaking it in under the wire! :)

The challenge this month is to use left over holiday wrapping items in a card project. Not super tricky, and a lot of fun!

On my card, the red polka dot paper is the B side of a double-sided wrapping paper. I also used up some small pieces of baker's twine that were left after I decorated some jars of tomato sauce I gave to my coworkers.  I used Mister Huey's Calico Shine to make the snowman a little sparkly; I also used some Stickles on the letters, but you can't really see the effect in the photo.

Other supplies:
- PTI Shape-Ups Snowman die set
- PTI Shape-Ups Snowman Accessories stamp set
- PTI Block Alphabet die set
- PTI Hawaiian Shores and Dark Chocolate cardstock
- Stampin' Up Pool Party cardstock
- Pure Luxury by Gina K. Designs 80lb white cardstock

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Perfect timing on this month's PTI blog hop... My stamps from the new release just arrived a few days ago, and I had the whole day with nothing specific to do!

This month's hop is a photo challenge.

As soon as I saw this photo I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Since I've been dying to use the new Christmas stamps from the September release, I knew I was going to be using Candy Cane Christmas (stripes) to make a stamped background (repetition) in all these awesome colors. Here's my card...

I have to be honest and say I'm a little disappointed with my finished card, mostly because of the limitations of my ink collection. I love the combination of colors in the inspiration photo, and I did my best to match them from the options I have.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you had a great weekend! :)

Inky Fingers Team First Blog Hop

This is so exciting - it's my A Muse Studio team's first ever blog hop! You should be hopping over from Carla's blog... I hope you're having fun! If not, head over to our upline Liz's blog to start at the beginning.

The theme of our blog hop is Autumnal Splendor. I've been really into non-card projects recently, so I thought I'd show you how you can use the awesome new items from the A Muse Holiday Catalog for some great home decor items! :)

I used the Classic Tags die set to cut tags from Sleepy Hollow cardstock (I love this stuff!). I used fall color Distress Inks to do some acrylic block stamping for the background, and then stamped images from the Too Cute to Spook stamp set in Staz-On black ink.

Then I just tied all the tags on baker's twine, used pushpins to attach it to my mantel, and added some faux leaf garlands from my local discount store! Super simple, super cute!

So now you're off to Tobey's blog! Get on over there and check out what she's got! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
