Think Outside the Jar: Picnic Place Cards

Welcome to a new mini video series! As if I didn't have enough on my plate these days :)

I'm completely addicted to the Perfectly Preserved stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. Of course, I love all the little images that come in the set, but as soon as I saw it I started dreaming up all sorts of other ways to use it. So I'm shooting for maybe 4 or 5 videos to help you "think outside the jar" (can you tell I'm proud of that title? lol!) and mix up your stamp collection.

It's Labor Day Weekend - the unofficial end of the summer. But there's still plenty of nice weather yet to come, and plenty of chances for outdoor entertaining. So for my first video, I wanted to show you what I think is a super cute place card idea. Plus, since I decided to use the corn image - what's better than corn on the cob for a summer party, right? :) - you can totally recycle these for Thanksgiving!

Check out the video below, or over on my YouTube channel. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend! Happy Stampin'! :)

Foodie Penpals: August

Not sure how we've gotten to the end of August, but it's time for another Foodie Penpal post! :)

Foodie Penpal is pretty much what it sounds like - every month you get assigned a different partner and you send them a box of food. And someone else is assigned to send you food! If you want more info - or if you want to join! - check out the info page on The Lean Green Bean blog.

This month my box came from Megan in NYC. Check out all the yumminess she sent me!

Oh my, where to start? Well, I worked at my local mom-and-pop natural food store every summer for 10 years. I remember well all the fuss at the arrival of both Larabars and Kind bars. But would you believe I'd never tried either one?! Hello! I'm a convert! Yum-O! The cocoa granola is so yummy! We just made a batch of chocolate cherry jam which is just amazing mixed into yogurt, and I cannot wait to try adding some of this granola. I have no idea what I'm going to do with the chia seeds, but I'm super psyched to jump on the bandwagon and give it a try. My hubby is beyond excited to bust open that package of imported Italian pasta. And I'm totally hoarding that au naturale popcorn for a healthy work snack. Yummy! Thanks Megan! :)

Start-to-Finish Sunday #6 - Halloween Cat Pocket Card

Here we are again, later than I would have liked, on Sunday night. I actually made this card fairly early in the day, but I'm just now getting around to finishing up the video.

Friday 8/17 was Black Cat Appreciation Day! I happen to have two of the most amazing black cats on the planet! :) So I was inspired to use the Frightening Feline stamp from the Holiday Catalog on today's Start-to-Finish Sunday card. And, just for something a little different, I decided to make it a pocket card.

You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful week.

Happy Stampin'!

(I owe you supply lists on like 7 projects now - sorry! I barely have enough time to make, edit, upload, and post these videos. But it's important to me to have complete supply lists so I'll put them together as soon as I possibly can, I promise!)

Start-to-Finish Sunday #5 - For the Birds Hello Card

Hello Hello! Welcome to another Start-to-Finish Sunday! Today I decided to share one of the cards I'm making for swaps at a Stampin' Up! regional event that I'm going to with my upline on August 25th. I'm super excited! :)

It's a super simple card, but I think it's super cute too. I just can't get enough of this For the Birds set! (Check out some other cards I made with this set in this post.)

As always, check out the video below, or over on YouTube.

Have a good week! Happy Stampin'!

Start-to-Finish Sunday #4 - Jar of Flowers Thank You Card

Welcome to another Start-to-Finish Sunday project! Did you have a good weekend? I did, but we had those lovely 4 H's all over the weather forecast... Hazy, Hot, and Humid! Yuck! Yesterday was, in my opinion at least, the worst day we've had all summer. Today was much better - but I still spent most of the day in my office with the A/C on! :) Sadly, though, I was cleaning, not creating.

But, of course, I did have to get at least one card made today! So here it is. I needed a thank you card for my father's 96 year old customer who gave us a bunch of pickling cukes from her garden. She picked them herself and hand wrote her recipe to share with us - her handwriting is impeccable! And all this was after she'd already made her own 4-5 batches of pickles! If that doesn't deserve an old fashioned thank you note, then I don't know what does! :)

So go ahead and check out the video below, or over at my YouTube channel. Have a great week! :)

Happy Stampin'!

Supply list coming soon! (It's too close to my bed time to put it together tonight!)
