Without them, what would little boys do?

I fell in love with the Baby, We've Grown stamp set the minute I saw it in the new Occasions Catalog! It's one of the cutest and least cliche baby sets I've ever seen. I mean, we all have enough onesies and baby bottle stamps, right? How about a cute little family of owls, and the cutest little baby shoes? :) And those shoes just beg to be watercolored!

I chose the kind of funky DSP to modern-up the card a little bit, since I'm not really into super sweet baby stuff. The collection I used is called Sweet Sorbet, and it is a Sale-a-Bration exclusive that will be available starting January 28th. Remember, during Sale-a-Bration, you get to choose one exclusive product for free for every $50 you spend from Stampin' Up! Get your wish list ready - this year's exclusives are great! You can take a look at them here. The embossing folder I used on the Crisp Cantaloupe panel is also a Sale-a-Bration exclusive.

I chose the sentiment from Cuddles & Kisses, which is a super awesome baby sentiment set. It's very versatile - unlike most baby sets, it includes sentiments for twins, grandparents, and adoption! I'm a big fan of Maurice Chevalier - especially in the movie Gigi, which is where that song is from. :)

This adorable little shoe image was very simple, quick, and enjoyable to color. So cute! And I created a fun little polaroid-style frame with the Squares Collection Framelits to draw focus to the image. (You can check out my video tutorial on creating your own faux-Polaroids on YouTube.)

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

Happy Stampin'! :)

Start-to-Finish Sunday #18 - Sale-a-Bration Birthday Notecard

So a couple reasons behind designing this week's card. First off: I've pretty much been in a funk lately. A craft funk. I've basically been making one card a week  - the one I make for my STFS video. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll get in a second card. I partly blame Project Life - I've been really into making my layouts lately so that's the stuff that's always on my desk and it's been what I've been most inspired by. (I meant to photograph my layouts today to share! Hopefully we'll have a sunny afternoon soon and I can get that done.) So sometimes when I'm not feeling very inspired, if I just make something - anything! - I can get the motivation going again. And secondly: Sale-a-Bration is going strong for a little over 2 more weeks! Don't forget - you still have time to get a FREE item for every $50 you purchase from Stampin' Up! :)

Anyway, yeah... not really too much else to say about this card. Super simple. Small and quick and easy to put together. A very useful sketch for whenever you need a last-minute card. Check out the video below, or on my YouTube channel.

Have a great week and Happy Stampin'! :)

Start-to-Finish Sunday #17 - Watercolor Butterfly Sympathy Card

Another Sunday is coming to a close. My goodness, the weekends go by fast! Far too fast, if you ask me! This week I wanted to share the Watercolor Background technique - one of my faves and so much fun to do! It makes a mess though, so if you're squeemish about inky hands, you may want to get yourself a pair of gloves. Anyway, I decided to use this technique to make a sympathy card. I was thinking the watercolor look, plus a few simple butterflies, was well suited for this type of card.

The video shows how to make the watercolored panel, plus a little bit of my thought process that went into putting the card together. You can watch it below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Have a great week! Happy Stampin'! :)
